Canadian National Do Not Call List

The Canadian National Do Not Call List finally went online today. You can add your phone number in about two seconds to their list and opt not to get calls from telemarketers for a period of three years. The website says it will take up to 31 day for telemarketers to update their list. The website was pretty busy today but I finally got on today and added our number. It will be interesting to see what happens. I got four phone calls today and I doubt the list will really work as most of the calls I get are from bottem feeder scammers that are spoofing their numbers anyways. I have had a pile from Hollywood this month in the 555 area code. We will see if the free cruise offers stop or not. I doubt it though.

Do Rednecks Drink Heineken? - True Blood

So I tuned into  HBO’s True Blood for the second episode Sunday night. It moved a long much better and I can see how this is going to get interesting. The little meeting of vamps at Anna Paquin's boyfriends house gave me some hope that things are going to get good.

I couldn't help but notice in the bar a big display of Heinken beer bottles. A nice piece of advertising but I would doubt that anything besided Bud and Coors is being bought in that bar. Do they expect us to believe that those rednecks are toppping up for a premium beer? Doubtfull. I drink Heineken and still bitch about the price and I don't live in a trailer. Shame on you HBO, you should be finding sponsors like Billy Beer, Duff or Fudd.

Ashlee Simpson at Zellers?

I saw a commercial the other day that bugged the hell out of me. Ashlee Simspon getting rich dancing around in her Zellers outfits telling all the girls in North Amercia to head there to get their back to school outfits. What are the odds that Ashlee Simspons wears anything from Zellers? Do they have us believe that she shops there for all of her clothes before she goes on tour or when she tips off the paparazzi to where she is hanging out on the weekends? I would think not. My other half shops at Zellers for socks and underwear but we stopped buying kids clothes there a long time ago and our teenage children wouldn't be caught dead in Zellers clothes for back to school. I wonder is Ashlee got this bikini top at Zellers? Here's the commercial if you want it.

John Yancey Crying About Shadows

Must be a slow new day on CNN they feature story on their website site is about John Yancey a big cry baby that doesn't like shadows. Seems his father singed a deal with the wind companies to put some windmills on their property for 50K a year and he is crying about the shadows. What kind of grown man boo hoos to the world about shadows making him 50k a year? The Maple Ridge wind project creates enough electricty to keep 100,000 homes going. I guess John would rather see Amercia buy more oil from the Middle East. That way we can support their countries economy and the John doesn't have to look at the windmills shadows all day. Sounds great John you big baby, while your at it take the 50k and donate it to the Taliban I am sure they will appreciate it.

Cellphone Popping Popcorn

Yesterday Google News reported that the head of a prominent cancer research institute issued an unprecedented warning to his faculty and staff Wednesday: Limit cell phone use because of the possible risk of cancer. I caught the story on Howard Stern. Howard had commented on how cell phones can be used to pop popcorn and must be dangerous. Pretty neat, so I thought I would investigate. Below is the You Tube clip that shows three cell phones making popcorn. Seems easy enough. After a quick check on Snopes.com however it appears to be an urban legend. The last paragraph explains it all at Cell Phone Popcorn Urban Legend.
