I was reading a post on Reddit about some odd bathroom urinals a member found in the UK. This of course had me looking for more photos of odd public urinals. Of course my search did not disappoint at all. I could be here all day picking out photos.

It’s that time of the year right now when many people I know are heading south on vacation getaways. Some are heading to Florida or the Carolinas and some are heading to other countries for vacations. I am not going anywhere but after a cold and miserable winter I found myself looking into a vacation.

I really have no idea where I would like to go. Somewhere hot and sunny was on my list. Remember the old days when you had to go out and meet a travel agent just to get a list of destination resorts, prices and dates? Now it is easier than ever to find top vacation spots. It’s all at your finger tips online.

You can just logon to the internet and find that perfect vacation destination in a matter of minutes. It is easier than ever. Pick a destination, pick the time you want to go and you can find hundreds of trip packages. A great feature of this is that you can price compare the spots that you want to go to. You aren’t bound to one travel brochure. You can get a long list of places and find one that fits your budget.

Another great feature is being able to read reviews from other people that have travelled there before you. Imagine spending good money to go to a resort or hotel to find out that it was a dive or that the food was terrible? Finding your vacation spot online allows you to read reviews and ratings before you shell out your credit card.

I am not off to anywhere this year but am already starting to plan a trip next year. It’s easy. Just go online and find that trip that suits you and your family.

The people I work with have started to bring in candy and filling dishes around the shop over the past few weeks. Eventually they will guilt me into brining in candy to contribute to the fun. That made me think of what is the absolute worst and disgusting tasting candy I can recall ever eating. Growing up in a different era I think the government once thought candy was a basic food group. It was everywhere and not all of it was good.

1. Marshmallow Bananas

Sometimes called Circus Peanuts these awful tasting things are a banana flavoured candy which is akin to eating yellow styrofoam. Not sure what which one would be worse for you. They used to have these in little jars when I was a kid. Their upside, they would get so hard and stale they were perfect for throwing at the school bus.

2. Fruity Tootsie Rolls

You won’t get an argument out of me about the regular Tootsie Roll. I would eat them all day long but they crossed the line with the fruit flavoured version. They should have just left well enough alone.

3. Good and Plenty

Once a staple at the movie theatres but so was Keanu Reeves and that didn’t make either of them right. Black licorice disguised a candy. It’s just as bad as it sounds.

4.  Allsorts Licorice 

I have nightmares just thinking about having to eat one of these things. They are colourful and bright but they are black licorice. Pink and chocolate flavours mixed with black licorice. If there are sadistic aliens amongst us. They are most certainly responsible for this.

5. Snowballs

Including these as candy as they are as artificial and full of sugar as anything else called candy. Mmm, artificial flavoured coconut and cream. Not even if they were the last thing left after a nuclear war and trust me the would probably last.

6. Thrills

We chewed a lot of this as kids but mostly on account of being dared to. What kid on their own free will would stuff their mouth with soap flavoured gum?

I am heading over to a friends in a few hours to watch Sunday hockey and asked her to pick up a couple of bags of potato chips when she was out. When she asked what kind I looked online to see what was new. To my dismay I found that Lay’s have released a new flavour. Chicken and Waffle flavoured chips.

They sponsored a contest to find a new flavour and this is what they came up with. I wouldn’t  mind the Cheesy Garlic Bread. That doesn’t sound too bad. Beats the Grape Chips of the 70?s.

Do you remember a time when becoming a watch collector was a crazy expensive hobby? I know that decent watches still come at a decent prices but  have also noticed that that they have also become more affordable. Maybe it’s the fact that it’s just after Christmas but I have been watching prices of watches online and at a few nearby stores and I am kind of amazed how the prices have come down or how they are on sale. I have been watching a few like Caravelle by Bulova, some Roots watches and Tommy Hilfiger. I would love to start out bigger but everyone has to start somewhere.

I was at a repair garage on Thursday getting my car fixed when a lady walked into the office in a panic because her back tire was low and she couldn’t find any air pumps anywhere nearby. The tire didn’t look too bad to me and she probably could have driven to a real gas station on her way home but she was adamant that the car was going to blow up if it didn’t get any air in the tires. They were nice enough to get her on her way but I can’t help but think why people don’t have a portable air pump in their car. I bought one two months ago for less than $20. I check the air in my tires once a month and I do it in my own lane way. I save money in gas because my tires are inflated, I never run into problems and I don’t have to pay to use air machines at gas stations.

I was watching some hospital drama on tv the other night, an old episode of Scrubs. I remembered way back in the day when wearing hospital scrub pants were in. People were scrambling left and right to get a  pair of scrub pants to wear and they wore them everywhere. School, playing sports and out in public. A fad that is long gone by. You don’t see people wearing hospital pants out in public any more and thank god.  It was a pretty funny fad when you think about it. At least todays uniforms are a little more stylish. I see  sites saying look here for Greys anatomy scrubs and to tell  you the truth they look pretty good not like the old gaudy green people used to where.

Only in Serbia would you see an official Vampire warning issued. Those not complaining, the garlic merchants. Sales have spiked in Western Serbia with a local council issuing an official vampire warning. The panic started when an old mill  collapsed which belonged to  Sava Savanovic, a suspected vampire.

The mayor of the village of Zarozje, Miodrag Vujetic, said:

“People are worried, everybody knows the legend of this vampire and the thought that he is now homeless and looking for somewhere else and possibly other victims is terrifying people. We are all frightened,” he said.

Grab your garlic, holy water and crosses. It could be a while before the vampire is caught.
