Just the other day I was out and about doing some shopping in the mall when I came across a couple of guys wearing Pirate T shirts. It made me laugh a little because when I was in university there was a guy in a couple of my classes that thought he was an actual pirate.

Yup, a real pirate from the 18th Century living in the modern times. This was back in the days before digital cameras and cell phone cameras were the norm. I would have loved to have some pictures of this character. He wore clothes to school right out of the Pirates of the Caribbean and he knew everything about pirates that there was to know. Why not, he was one. He didn’t speak like a pirate though. He just dressed the part. This led me to believe that he wasn’t a time traveler; I just thought he was just nuts.

When I saw these two guys in the mall I had to rethink my position of “the pirate”. I guess he is no different than somebody you see wearing NFL or MLB shirts. No different than a person wearing navy t shirts or army shirts. Maybe he wasn’t nuts, just a big fan and chose to show his dedication through his sense of fashion.
