People Still Wear Flair

I was in restaurant last week and when the server came to my table she was covered in custom pins and buttons. All over her shirt were buttons with cute little sayings. I immediately thought of the scene from The Office where Jennifer Aniston was told she just didn't have enough "flair" on her work uniform. This girl couldn't be accused of that. It seemed like she had a hundred buttons on. I asked the girl if she was being forced to wear the buttons but she told me that she liked them. It was her personal touch to a crappy uniform she had to wear at work.

As she walked away I thought, "Hmm, people still wear flair."

I hate writing essays…

I hate writing essays. I always leave it to the last minute to start and finish my assignments.  This coupled with the fact that I never really know where to begin when writing an essay or what direction to take. I had that problem all through college and I still have it today as I am finishing off an extra course I am taking at night. The deadline is Monday morning and I haven't even started yet.

The worst part about this latest essay project I have to complete is that it is reflective essay writing. This is not my strongest writing skill and never has been. Besides choosing an appropriate subject and title I never know how to properly set up my essay intro. The intro sets everything up for the rest of the essay so in essence it is the most important part of any good paper.

Wouldn't it be nice to get a little extra help to complete your essays? I sure know I could use some help. I never know where to turn to though. I don't need a tutor or a study buddy. I just need somebody to help kick me in the right direction so I can get started. You can find people online to help you with essays uk or all over the world.

If it’s too loud you are too old….

Last night I had the pleasure of going out and seeing a friends band play at a local pub. Of course I brought my better half with me which meant I was late in getting there. Which of course meant that we got kind of crappy seats for the show. The only table left was off to the side right beside a stack of marshall amps. Well maybe what they say is true about being too loud and being too old. My head has been ringing all day.

Heated Clothing?

Here is one thing that I didn't know. There is such a thing as a heated vest. Seriously, a heated vest. Where have these been all my life. Here I have been golfing in the spring and fall and freezing my tail off. Not that the vest would help keep my tail warm but it sure would help keeping things warm on the golf course. They are powered by a Lithium-Ion Battery and one charge will last for about five hours of heating time. That is truly amazing to me. I would have picked up one of these years ago.

Hey New Shorts?

You know you never buy clothes when you show up at a game of golf and everyone notices that you have a new pair of shorts on. I hate shopping for clothes and only go out once a year to buy new threads. Spring time, for the golf season. Today is miserable out so I am shopping online for some clothes. Found one site, Mountain Hardwear Clothing and they have some good prices and selections. So I am off to get some new duds to impress my golf buddies. I guess they care about what I wear more than I do.

Improving Air Quality

The weather is starting to turn  nice. The snow is gone, the sun is out and the wind is blowing. The wind is blowing around dirt and dust and our house is really dusty right now. It needs a full spring cleaning. Now that the sun is out longer you can really see the dust on tables and appliances. This is the dust that you are breathing in and that cannot be good for you.

I suffer from allergies all summer long and this year is going to be different. I am no focused on improving air quality in my house. No more dust , dander and dog hair. I am going to buy an air cleaner for   the house and see just how dirty the air is that we have been breathing in. Last summer I did nothing but sneeze and scratch my eyes. I am taking action and actually going to enjoy my summer this year.

There are many air cleaners on the market and I am going to do my homework on this one because they also range in price and functionality. I don’t want to cheap out and end up buying something that doesn’t effectively purify the air in my house but I don’t want  to spend the farm either if I don’t have to.

There are many places online to read HEPA purifier reviews.  I think it’s important to read reviews and customer remarks about appliances before rushing out and purchasing something like air purifiers, blenders, juicers or any small appliance. Imagine rushing out and buying an air purifier that is noisy and ends up driving you crazy or one that breaks down constantly. I make it a point to read the personal comments from reviewers that are regular people like myself as they are the ones that have used the product.  These are the types of  valuable information that you can get from reading reviews online about small appliances.

Today Was Geek Day

Today I had a free day to do whatever I wanted to do. No wife home and no children either. I could have spent it doing nothing but sitting on the couch like I do most days but today I decided to go out, do some shopping and walk a bit around the downtown core checking out some new stores. After it was over I decided it was a Geek Day. Although I went to a Costco and a Pharmacy for a few supplies the rest of my time was spent geeking it out.

My first stop was at a used CD/BluRay/Video Game store. If you are over the age of 30 and hanging out in a used video game store and that's the highlight of your day, you need to find a woman and move out of your mothers basement and get a real apartment. I dropped in and grabbed a few PS3 Move games like tennis, bowling and fighting. Besides the odd crack head selling some old games I was entertained by two 30+ virgins who were debating with the store owner if Sony was releasing a new video game system next year. They of course knew this to be the truth as they knew everything about video games, in their minds. I kind of felt back for the guy trying to make a few bucks selling games as I have a feeling these two clowns are probably there every day. Nice life if you can get it I guess.

My next stop was a comic book store. Are there even comic book stores anymore? This one had comics but I think it was front for getting teenagers hooked on little cards and dice rolling. I have no idea what they were doing, rolling dice, buying cards and talking about their spells of fire and ice. I just wanted to buy some Fantastic 4 and Wolverine comics to read. I think these kids should get a spell to pick up some girls and stop hanging around the comic book store talking about spells they obviously don't have but believe they do. I never saw one of them turn anything to ice when I was there.

I did get a nice Wolverine 300 comic. I dig the artwork. He looks way more menacing than the teenagers rolling their dice in the back room of a comic book store. I also grabbed a few Fantastic 4's but nothing to write home about.

I also stopped in a crazy store that had some crazy looking pipes and lamps for sale. That was my first time in one of those stores. I enjoyed looking at the artwork but it too was full of teenagers. Probably not the same ones that were throwing dice down the street but you never know. I had enough of teenagers at that point and left in a hurry.

Stylish Headphones

I have redone my basement and my entertainment room. I now hate the fact that my TV and PS3 headphones are wired. The wire drags across the floor and over the table. It looks terrible and it looks messy. I am sick of fumbling over the all of the wires and nearly tripping over them every time I get up.

My only escape at work is listening to music. I sit at work with my ear buds plugged into either my iPhone or my Sirius Radio. I am constantly pulling on my ears whenever I have to move around in my cubicle. I don’t know why they don’t build them with longer wires.

At the end of my rope I am resigned to go out and buy a pair or two of cordless headphones so I can get on with my life. The last time I checked for a pair they were crazy expensive. Like everything else they have come down in price and are more affordable. Not only were they crazy expensive. They were big and bulky. That has changed as well. They are now smaller and stylish.

They even come in better quality sets than the pair the girl below is wearing.
