Pittsburgh Penguins fans showed just how classy they can be again this weekend. The Pens took a beating from the Bruins. When  Lady Byng runner up Matt Cooke took a deserved penalty it was all class from the Gary Bettman poster city for the NHL. Actually I am sure that  most Pittsburgh fans will say that this guy doesn’t represent them in general but if you ever happened upon any of the sports forums or follow along comments during sports game on ESPN this guy ranks right up there. Stay classy steel town. You earned it.

Here's a Pens fan at the Winter Classic doing what apparently looks like his impersonation of Cindy Crosby diving. The only difference is that he gets back up faster than Cindy.

I haven't seen this one in the stores yet but I am keeping my eyes open.

It so bad in Pittsburgh now the tv affiliates have to cheat for goals. It’s bad enough you have to listen to Bob Errey, who shouldn’t be calling my wifes floor hockey games let alone being on tv for the nhl. Watch the end of the video to see the puck go in.

FSN Pittsburgh Under Investigation from Frank Seravalli of Frequent Flyers,

“The NHL is investigating Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh for not sending all available camera angles to league headquarters in Toronto for Simon Gagne’s apparent goal that was under review against the Penguins last Thursday, the Daily News has learned.

FSN Pittsburgh, who had the game’s only video feed, allegedly sent all of the camera angles of the replay except the one that clearly showed the puck over the goal line. Comcast SportsNet elected to not use their own video feed during the game to save money on production costs, one SportsNet employee said on Monday.”

I had a few vistors over the weekend from the Penquins fans forums so I thought I would share a few photos I had collected on my harddrive. Baby On Board I made up because I was bored silly this morning. I hate to say it but I need them to go 7 so I can win a hockey pool. May the gods strike me down.

If you aren’t watching the Caps vs. Pens series in the NHL you are seriously missing out on some talent. It’s Ovechkin vs. Crosby and a rookie goalie named Simeon Varlamov against everybody else. What is more incredible is that after a few years in the NHL Sidney Crosby, the poster child of the NHL with his Ba Ba Boey teeth and lips is still whining like a spoiled child who doesn’t get his way.

Last night he cried up a storm to the refs because fans were throwing too many hats on the ice after Ovechkin’s first career playoff hat trick. Unreal.  Here is a a great picture of the baby skating by a sea of hats. What a team hero. What an icon for the NHL to put their hat on to make the game more marketable to fans.

“People kept throwing hats,” Sidney Crosby said tonight. “I was just asking if he could make an announcement to ask them to stop. I mean, the first wave came and then I think they were all pretty much picked up, and then more started coming. So for us, we just wanted to make sure we kept kind of moving and kept the game going, wanted to try to get back in it. So wasn’t complaining about anything.”
