Mark Teixeira in a Tutu

My girlfriend and I went to the Sky Dome on Saturday to see my Yankees play the Jays. The game went 14 innings and they stop serving beer after 7 innings. I ran out in the ninth after my stockpile dried up. Ever watch 5 innings of baseball without beer? Nu-ff said.

I probably spent about $300 in between tickets, travel, lunch and booze. For what? To watch Teixeira strike out 5 friggin times. In my girlfriends slow pitch league if you strike out you have to wear a Tutu. Thanks Mark for giving us a good show. It was great to travel an hour and a half, spend 3 bills and watch you swing worse than a girl.

In your honour, here is your Tutu.

Tiger Woods Heckler Tasered?

A rowdy drunk golf fan was tasered over the weekend at the Players for heckling the golfers at the 11th hole. Travis Parmelee, of Jacksonville, was charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest without violence, said St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Dave Messenger.  Parmelee pulled away as officers tried to put him into a golf cart, Messenger said, prompting one to touch him with a stun gun. Messenger said it was clear Parmelee had been drinking.

The YouTube clip below is an audio describing the incident which indicates that Travis was heckling Tiger Woods about his recent adultery. I have also included a source story which explains the event in more detail. I wish the NHL would get on board and bring out the tasers for Penguins and Flyer’s road games. A boy can dream.

How To Fix a Golf Slice

I am a golf addict and I thought I would share a couple of tips that I have found that have actually fixed my golf slice. Forget buying 400 videos and magazines. I have tried everything like new clubs, longer and shorter tees and 100 goofy stances. None of these worked. It wasn't until two weeks ago I watched a video on "fixing the grip" that solved all of my problems.

You have to realize what causes a slice. A slice is caused by the club head being wide open when it  impacts the ball. That's it. Fix that and you can fix your slice.

One, I was palming the club in my hands. That made it so loose that when I came around to hit the ball the club head would be flying open when it hit the ball. Grab the club with your fingers so you can get a tight grip on it. Grab it right in that ridge where your fingers meet your hand and not the crease in the middle of your hand. That causes you to palm it.

Two, use the "Strong Grip". Many people think that your left thumb should be straight down the shaft of the club. False. When you are holding the club and looking down as you address the ball you should be able to see three knuckles on your left hand. If you don't turn your left hand over towards the right more. Make that "V" that forms with your left index finger and thumb point towards your right shoulder. The picture on the Left is what you want. Try a few swings, it feels wierd at first but this will cause you to swing through with the club more square at time of impact.

You can also try tilting the club head a little more to the left when you first grab it. That will help you send it off to the left as well but those first two tips have totally gotten rid of a slice I had for all of last year and I have played 4 games this year with no slice.

The Longest Par 3 in the World

A friend emailed me this today and I thought it was a must share in case any of you are golf nuts like myself. I would love to take a swing at it. You have to watch the video to believe it.

“The world’s longest and highest par three, the signature hole at Legends Golf and Safari Resort, has its tee box poised at a dizzying height atop of Hanglip Mountain, 1 410 feet above the green and is only accessible by helicopter! This means that the ball needs to travel an incredible 830 metres from tee to green (the total distance across and down)!

Balls hit off the tee are estimated to have a ‘hang time’ of 26 seconds…….”
